Man steals a car out of a police parking lot
A man was arrested Monday after he attempted to steal a car in the Gilbert Police Department parking lot. A video posted on CNN shows a car being stolen as Gilbert police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marino was being interviewed Monday afternoon by 3TV News for a story.
Marino was talking about the recent arrest of a man accused of impersonating a police officer when moving police vehicles caught his attention, he said.
Marino yelled, 'Watch out!,' toward an officer off screen whom he believed could be in danger. A white vehicle then peeled out of the parking lot and was chased by Gilbert police. Marino said the pursuit lasted only half a minute to avoid danger on the streets.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was apprehended shortly after on Val Vista Drive and Baseline Road, Marino said. More.
