Florida teacher keeps job after giving racist lesson plan

Greg Howard, a Florida middle school teacher, will not be fired after he allegedly explained to his class what supporters of Barack Obama really mean by 'Change.' He reportedly wrote the word on the board as an acronym: 'C.H.A.N.G.E. ' Come Help A (N-word) Get Elected.' It appears that in Florida, openly racist lesson plans are merely cause for a 10 days suspension and a relocation to a new job within the district.

Jackson County Superintendent Danny Sims acknowledged that Howard gave this lesson plan to more than one class. He was given a written reprimand regarding his actions and required to submit a letter of apology to the students involved. He will also have to undergo diversity and sensitivity training.

Sims feels the punishment is appropriate because the alleged racist diatribe was not directed at any students, but at a political party. Hmmm, calling blacks (like some of his students) the n-word is an attack on a party?
